Electrical Rough-In Planned Around Your Home
A good electrical plan starts before the walls are closed. We review your drawings and discuss how you’ll use each room so outlets, switches, lighting, and circuits are planned for your needs.
Depending on the project scope, the work may include:
Lighting, switches, and receptacles
Kitchen, bathroom, and laundry wiring
Circuits for appliances and other dedicated equipment
Panel and circuit planning
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarm wiring, where required
Exterior lighting and weatherproof device locations
Data, security-camera, and smart-home wiring, when requested
EV charger and battery-storage wiring provisions, when included in the plans
Final inclusions are confirmed in your written estimate.
How the Work Progresses
1. Review the plans and requirements
We review the drawings, discuss your requirements, and coordinate electrical locations with the project layout and other trades.
2. Confirm device and equipment locations
We plan the locations for outlets, switches, lighting, appliances, and any requested low-voltage or future-ready wiring before installation begins.
3. Install the rough-in wiring
Our electricians install boxes, cables, circuits, and required electrical components for the agreed scope. Wiring is routed, supported, and protected for the building conditions.
4. Arrange required inspection and complete the installation
We coordinate required ESA notification and inspection as outlined in your project quote. Once the project is ready for the finishing stage, we install the included devices, complete panel connections, and test the work.
New-Home Electrical Wiring Pricing
New-home electrical wiring is listed from $7 per sq. ft. The price includes rough-in and finishing with standard Leviton Decora devices. Your written estimate will confirm the project scope, device selections, and any additional work. Prices are before HST.

Rough-in is the wiring and installation work completed before insulation and drywall cover the walls and ceilings. The exact work depends on the plans and agreed project scope.
Can you work from my house plans?
Yes. We can review available architectural or electrical drawings and discuss device locations, appliance requirements, and requested upgrades before preparing a quote.
Do you install the switches, outlets, and lights too?
The finishing work depends on the quote. Elecomp’s new-home wiring price includes rough-in and finishing with standard Leviton Decora devices. Other devices, fixtures, and upgrades should be confirmed in the written scope.
Do you install data, security, EV charger, or smart-home wiring?
These options can be discussed during planning and included in the project scope when requested.
